Clancy, Theodore Letter. 29 May 1846.

Clancy writes to his father, Lewis Clancy, in Winchester, KY, from Matamoros, Mexico. He advises his father to contact congressmen or U.S. officials to petition for his release from the Army because of hardship. He describes the recent Battle of Palo Alto and Resaca de la Palma (Matamoros) which the 7th Infantry had fought. He mentions equipment and supplies seized from the Mexican army.
